MSNBC Cover Aquarius
Tension is apt to build to quite a high level for you if you are not careful with how you use your words, dear Aquarius. The tricky thing to keep in mind is that forces are going to be at work that will try to push you one way and pull you another. You may be encouraging a need to focus on the collective, while others seem to be worried only about themselves. Still another force is acting that calls for outdated remedies and traditional structures that simply no longer work for your purposes. Blaze your own trail!

A Very Mixed Marriage But in the Middle East, every noodle is important. A former senior Bush administration official says that proposed language favorable to the Palestinian cause was walked back after the speeches were reviewed by Vice President Dick Cheney, national-security adviser Condi Rice, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Rove. According to the former official, Rice and her deputy, Stephen Hadley, defended the edits. In one conversation, Hadley said that the speeches needed, among other things, to be politically viable. (Through a spokeswoman, Hadley strongly denied that politics was involved.)

Dean for America: HomeMay 15, 2003
The Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) on Tuesday circulated a memo to "Leading Democrats" titled "The Real Soul of the Democratic Party" in which the DLC argues that traditional Democratic values are "an aberration" and that the thousands of grassroots Democrats inspired by Governor Dean's message to "take back our party" are "activist elites" and not "real Democrats."

The DLC memo presented "5 myths" about running for the Democratic nomination. According to the DLC, Democrats have to sound like Republicans in order to win in 2004.

Howard Dean disagrees. The truth is that Democrats can't run away from their traditional values if they want to win in 2004. Democrats should proclaim their values loudly and clearly presenting a clear alternative to the American people.

The difference between Howard Dean and George W. Bush is the difference between balanced budgets and the highest deficit in the history of this nation. It is the difference between a sane foreign policy that builds on 40 years of bipartisan support for multilateral agreements and a reckless foreign policy that alienates our allies and fails to make the world safer. It's the difference between a homeland security program that provides funding to states to promote security and a homeland security program that relies on color coding and fear to ultimately accomplish little. It's the difference between a balanced judiciary and ideologues on the bench. It's the difference between health care for everyone and health care for those who can afford it. It's the difference between environmental protection and environmental degradation.

The DLC would argue that offering such a clear choice to Americans would be a losing strategy, or that those who want such a choice between candidates are "elitists."

"The DLC's five myths are ripped right out of Karl Rove's playbook," said Joe Trippi, Dean for America campaign manager. "If they continue these tactics, the DLC risks becoming known as the Divisive Leadership Council.

"Howard Dean believes that Americans, when given a choice between the hard right and doing what is right, will choose the candidate who will do what is right," Trippi continued.

As President, Howard Dean will stand up for what is right for all Americans. As the Democratic nominee, Howard Dean will bring together all the members of the Democratic party to carry the fight to George W. Bush.

"Howard Dean is working to unite the Democratic Party, and to unite Americans," said Trippi, "because only together will we begin to undue the tremendous damage done to our nation by the reckless policies of the Bush Administration."
No weapons, no problem for BushThe basis of the war in Iraq is fraudulent. They misrepresented Iraqs alleged weapons of mass destruction. They misrepresented the nature of the nuclear threat.
